Hibernating with Tarot

Winter is fast approaching. At least here in Michigan. The daylight bestows itself upon us around 8am and then quickly leaves again around 5pm. Most days consist of snow, ice, wind with temps around 20 degrees. Looking out the window it all looks grand. Everything sparkling white and pure. but the moment you step outside reality hits. Its freezing. Driving is a non-stop anxiety attack. That is why not only are the animals hibernating, but the humans join them. At least it feels like it. With the days being darker than light it tends to make us tired. Grouchy. And the main concern of the day is listening to the weather predictions and comparing them to all the other weather stations.

I think this is a perfect time to connect with the Tarot. A great way to do a daily study. The daily card draws. And give yourself a daily challenge.

The fun way i do Hibernating with Tarot is drawing a card every morning and using the meaning of the card as a challenge. I challenge myself to do what is on the card. Sometimes it's not a direct challenge so I have to figure it out lol

When I draw the card i start with going through my books and internet and finding every meaning I can. Yes, even though I'm a professional reader I still like to learn as much as I can about the cards. There is always more to learn and looking at the perspective of others is a great way. i take into account the planet, element and zodiac of the card. Remember this is just a game I play there is no right or wrong way. It keeps my mind fresh on all the meanings and gives me something to work on during the boring winter months.

Here are some examples of how i play.

If i draw the 5 of cups i take it as an emotional healing day. So i think of a time i was at low spot or hurting emotionally. I write down how I felt or who was hurting me then I burn the paper. im getting the feelings out onto the paper and handing them to the universe while burning them.

If i draw the 6 of swords i think of a place I've always wanted to go. I write down a plan to go there. Maybe start a little jar of change or dollars bills to save towards visiting this place. The 5 of pentacles i think of a charity I admire and think of a way I can help. Can I volunteer, give a few dollars or even just spread the word to others and bring them more followers.

Like I said there is no right or wrong way. Do what feels right to you. Use this time as a time to get to know the cards and connect with them. While bettering yourself along the way.
