Knight of Cups. A lover or a leaver?

As a girl and a teenager and ok even as a grown woman I used to dream of my knight on a white horse coming to save me. He would be tall and handsome and carry me away to another world. A world full of love, flowers, romance and never-ending happiness.

Perhaps that's why the knight of cups has always been one of my favorite cards. As soon as I seen him flip, I would think yes!! finally my knight in shining amour is coming to take me away.

As I got older, I would see different readers interpretation of this knight were not always the same as mine. Before I knew the cards in more detailed manner, I would be confused by the not so happy reaction to flipping this card.

Some people see the knight of cups as a player. Someone who is all msg and no action. There is even controversy on his zodiac sign.

The knight of cups is a yes card. It is a positive card. His planet is Pluto. Element is water. Some believe him to be Scorpio some believe him to be Pisces.

I think the controversy on him being a lover or a leaver started with his meaning in upright compared to reversal.

Upright he stands for romance, proposals, heart on his sleeve, follow your heart card.

Reversed he stands for cheating, heartbreak and deception.

Let's not forget all the combinations. If he is combined with Ace of cups, 2 of cups.9 of cups,10 of cups or many other cards it's clearly a romance in the air sign. If he combined with the devil, tower,10 of swords then it's a sign that it will not end well.

He can also be a sign of needing to rekindle the romance in your existing relationship. Be brave try something new with your partner. Go all in like a knight heading to war.

So although all of these things can put a spin on the meaning of the knight of cups, I will always see him as the romantic coming to take me away. He is someone who will fight for his love. He is brave and courageous. He is loyal and true. To me he will be a Scorpio and a Pisces.. he has the artistic charming romantic side of the Pisces combined with the mysterious sexual side of the scorpio... He has it all. He is the knight of cups. Every girls dream.
